He was 7/9 from the field last night. 7/7 from the line. 2/2 from deep. Got the win over a good Notre Dame team. He also had 5 turnovers, but still. He's been on a really nice run. Second straight game with double digit rebounds.
The obvious (and lazy) comparison to make for Isaac from a physique standpoint is Brandon Ingram, but from a cursory look at numbers, Isaac has already been better. And from watching them play, Isaac is much more of an inside presence than Ingram. Still needs to put on weight, though, no doubt.
| Points per 100 | True Shooting | 3PT% | FT% | TRB% | AST% | BLK% | STL% | TOV% | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jonathan Isaac | 28.3 | .652 | .380 | .803 | 17.0 | 6.8 | 6.2 | 3.0 | 15.3 |
| Brandon Ingram | 29.3 | .552 | .410 | .682 | 10.8 | 11.4 | 3.6 | 1.9 | 11.3 |
And comparing his defensive stats to bigger players who've been drafted in the last 3 years, he's surprisingly holding his own. Some of these guys were obviously better prospects than Isaac is. Not trying to say that rebounds, blocks and steals are all there is.

*WCS was the only non-Freshman and actually had much better block numbers before Towns got there.
Isaac should be a really good NBA modern 4 when he puts on weight. Big enough and tough enough to play inside. But super mobile for a big man. And very good efficiency so far.
I think by the end of the season, he'll be in the consensus top 3 on on this sub, along with Fultz and Ball.
