Thank you Celtics and the city of Boston

There I was. Last month I had the honor of visiting the city of Boston and catching my first ever NBA game. I had been following the Celtics since I was a child and couldn't believe it was going to happen. As soon as I walked through the hallway to my section I just stood there in awe. 17....17 banners hung up there in the rafters...17 years of greatness and countless retired jerseys who made it happen.

Immediately it was clear that the atmosphere was going to be crazy:

  • The Celtics were facing off against the Wizards after having lost by 25 in their previous matchup.
  • We were down 5 guys due to injury so everyone had to pull their own weight. (AB, Amir, Jaylen, Godzeller & Young)
  • John Wall on eastern conference player of the month over IT by the slightest margin.
  • All Star voting was still in process

Well it was safe to say that game was nothing more than amazing. Bradley Beal and Porter went off in the first half and was scoring like crazy but the Celtics managed to stay in the game going into half time. Out of nowhere comes Floyd Mayweather and sits in the front row to show support for IT. Washington goes into the 4th with a slight lead but sure enough the King in the 4th comes through scoring 20 of his 38 points in the period. Boston seals the game on a 13-0 run with triples from Big Al, IT and Scary Terry. To top it all off a fight almost breaks out after the game.

In short I just want to say thank you to the Celtics, the city of Boston and the fans for giving me one of the single greatest experiences of my life. I'm not too good at expressing myself eloquently through writing but I hope that by sharing this picture I manage to encapsulate the grandeur of this whole experience.
