After the success of /u/Tomahawkchop14's predictions for the last 4 games, I thought I'd take a shot at predicting the games through February 12.
We are 2.5 games ahead of the Pacers, 4.5 games ahead of the Bulls and 5 games ahead of the Hornets. These are each of the hawks, pacers, bulls and hornets' schedules, with my predictions beside the game.
Hawks
@ Heat (L)
@Rockets (L)
Vs. Magic (L)
Vs. Jazz (L)
Vs. Nuggets (L)
@ Kings (L)
Yes, I am predicting the hawks go 0-6. The Heat are on an 8 game winning streak and have reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week Dion Waiters. The rockets game will be the second night of a road back-to-back, the Jazz have Shelvin Mack and the Nuggets have COTY candidate Mike Malone. The Magic game will difficult to lose but we didn't have any trouble letting them drop 130 on us in December. The Kings suck but we are the Cicadas and we are fully capable of losing to them.
Pacers
@ Magic (W)
@ Nets (W)
vs. Pistons (L)
vs. Thunder (L)
vs. Cavs (W)
@ Wizards (L)
vs. Bucks (W)
The pacers have been playing well so seeing them lose to the 9-39 Nets or the 19-31 Magic would be surprising. The cavs don't have enough playmakers. Even the pistons game could be interesting. They should easily beat the bucks though.
Bulls
@ Thunder (W)
@ Rockets (W)
@ Kings (W)
@ Warriors (L)
@ Suns (W)
@ Timberwolves (W)
I think the Bulls will pull one out in Houston but that will be a really tough game, the Rockets are playing great. The warriors are just plain better and will win. Again the Kings, Sons and Wolves aren't good and those should be wins. @Thunder will be interesting and I think the Bulls pull it out despite their recent clubhouse struggles.
@ Warriors (W)
@ Jazz (W)
vs. Nets (W)
vs. Rockets (W)
vs. Clippers (W)
The Warriors just lost to Dion Waiters. The Rockets have a stretch of 7 home games out of 8 total games with the only road game being the Hornets game so they might decide not to take players like Harden, Gordon on the trip. The Nets suck, the Clippers are missing Chris Paul and the Jazz have Shelvin Mack.
So, if my predictions are true this would be 5-8 in the east:
5 - Pacers (29-25)
6 - Bulls (29-26)
6 - Hornets (29-26)
8 - Hawks (28-26)
I honestly think this is the most likely scenario for the next week and a half and it is very likely the hawks end up 8th by then. So yes, we should trade Millsap and "blow it up". We should trade him for Mindaugas Kuzminskas and try to give Millsap the championship he deserves with the Knicks (/s... maybe). So what do you guys think? Am I being a homer or is this actually realistic?
