I've heard that the Celtics are among the only teams that Carmelo would waive his NTC for. I started working on a blockbuster trade.
Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller, James Young ,and Terry Rozier along with any 3 future first rounders that are not Brooklyn's for Melo and KOQ. (The salaries match up giving us around $1,000,000 in cap room).
It's a total heist in our favor. I don't see a contender offering anything of more significant value to get Melo while remaining under the cap room. This could land us the potential Hand for the King in the Fourth.
This trade could establish our future. We could resign IT and Bradley while going into the luxury tax,thus keeping our core. Paul George, Russell Westbrook, Klay Thomspon, and John Wall are free agents when Carmelo comes off our books. If the correct star became available (say The Brow, Jimmy Buckets, or Boogie himself) we could use Melo among our other assets to bring in this new superstar. This could all happen while we develop our young core of Brown, Smart, 17 Nets pick, and 18 Nets Pick.
Then something turned this perfect trade scenario into the shittiest of shit posts. Carmelo has a NTC. In this scenario we would be stuck with this aging ball hog for 3 years while he becomes a cancerous influence in our lockeroom. That's my biggest fear with this potential trade although it is a low risk trade. So what would you give for Carmelo or should we stay the course?
