There is a current prop bet for the Super Bowl this Sunday involving our very own Isaiah Thomas and the Patriots.
Who will have more?
-
Isaiah Thomas points vs Clippers (averaging ~28 PPG)
-
Patriots points vs Falcons -2.5
Over the past 10 Super Bowls, the most that a team has scored is 43 (Seattle over Denver) followed by 34 points (Baltimore over San Francisco) and 31 points (Green Bay over Pittsburgh and New Orleans over Indianapolis). The average score of the last 10 Super Bowls is 28.5 - 18.6.
Say the Patriots go off against Atlanta’s not-so-great defense and score towards the higher point total over the last 10 years at 43, Isaiah Thomas would need to score 41 points against the CP3-less Clippers. Since January, Isaiah Thomas has put up point totals of 29, 24, 38, 27, 38, 28, 35, 39, 41, 25, 38, 21, 37, and 41. That’s an average of 33 PPG.
Assuming the Patriots score anywhere from 0 to 35 points and Isaiah Thomas scores his January average of 33 PPG, the bet would be a win. Anyone think this is the lock of the year?
