[Analysis] With the success of the Hawks 3-headband lineup against the Knicks, will more teams look to increase their headbands-per-36?

Last night was the first time Mike Scott has played since Bazemore started wearing a headband and so we finally got to see the much anticipated 3-headband lineup of Delaney/Scott/Bazemore. As expected, it was a great success. Although they were on the court together for only 4 minutes, they were absolutely dominant in that time. Every Hawks basket in that interval was either scored or assisted by a headband wearer. They had a +14.3 net rating. For comparison, here are the net ratings of some of the other feared 3-man lineups in the league.

LeBron James/Kyrie Irving/Kevin Love: +9.6

Kevin Durant/Steph Curry/Klay Thompson: +20.3

Kawhi Leonard/Pau Gasol/LaMarcus Aldridge: +5.3

(Side note: Some of you might be wondering why I didn't include the reputed 3-man lineup of Terrence Ross/Jared Sullinger/2nd round pick in that list. Well, Sullinger has been injured the whole year so we don't have any stats for that lineup but I think it's safe to say they'll be about as good as Cleveland's big 3 once Sullinger returns.)

As you can see, the headband bros are right up there with the other elite 3-man lineups. The 3-headband lineup could be the next revolution in the NBA, just like the 7-seconds-or-less Suns and the five-out motion offense of the Warriors and Cavs. While teams around the league look to increase the number of headbands in their lineup, it might make sense for the Hawks to try out 4-headband or, dare I say it, even a 5-headband lineup. Dwight has of course worn a headband earlier in his career and Millsap has a big round head so he might look good in a headband. And who doesn't want to see DeAndre Bembry wear a headband? Needless to say, it's going to be a very exciting time for the headband enthusiasts out there.
