An Argument for Jusuf Nurkic

Marc Stein reported today that Nurkic is "sure to be traded" by the Nuggets before the deadline. I've been a distant admirer of Nurkic's game since he was drafted in 2014. His per 36 numbers are 16, 12, and 1.7 blocks. His game doesn't dazzle, but his toughness at 6'11/280 lb is just what we need. Signed modestly through the 18-19 season, and just 22 years old, I think his log jam behind Faried, Jokic, and Darrell Arthur makes his current trade value way lower than his potential ceiling. Denver might be happy to get our 2018 pick, which is sure to be in the bottom 10 picks anyway. I'm steady in the camp that unless we can get Anthony Davis, I would hold onto the Brooklyn picks and hope we build our next superstar on a rookie contract. I think a sneaky move like Nurkic would benefit us more than getting an expiring Bogut or Gibson. Curious to see what my fellow greenteammers think about the Bosnian Beast.
