Gordon Hayward

Now I imagine that I'm not the only one who has thought this. I have been thinking that maybe Hayward would join the Cs in free agency of summer 2017, partly because the Cs are doing better in a less competitive conference than the Jazz, and partly because of the Brad Stevens connection. This would be really good for the Cs, as with Hayward, they might have a really good chance of trading for Cousins in the 17-18 season (provided he isn't traded this season), and actually keeping him in 2018.

However the new CBA introduced the 'Durant Rule' whereby there is now a huge increase in the amount of money, and the number of years that teams can offer their own players at the end of their rookie extension contracts. Does this come into play as soon as 2017? and does it therefore scupper any chance of the Celtics securing Hayward, or for that matter any Superstar in their prime like Blake Griffin.

PS. I don't support Celtics but I have a soft spot for them and I would love it if Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder could compete for championships.
