So with Korver set to be 36 FA at the end of the season and with him becoming a defensive liability I thought it'd be interesting to look at SGs who will be set to be FAs in 2017. Now I wouldn't be opposed to sign Korver to a vet min and keep him somewhere on the bottom of the bench for another season or two but I'm not sure if he's starting material anymore. Timmy is pretty good but even if he takes the starting spot we'd still need another preferably younger- than Korver SG.
In 2017 we have:
Andre Iguodala: age-32 team-GSW Bird
Sergio Rodriguez: age-30 team-PHI Non-Bird
JJ Redrick (aka a new model of Korver): Age-32 team-LAC Bird
Jodie Meeks: Age-29 team-ORL Bird
Kentavious Cadwell-Pope: Age-23 team-DET Bird
Those are the players that most likely to be on the market and aren't ancient (Vincent Carter, Jason Terry, Manu). Of those players JJ redick is currently averaging 15 ppg and Kentavious is averaging 14 ppg. I think we could get either of those guys and it would break the bank. Also could really learn the system and help the team out. Thoughts?
