After stopping to consider the trends in our season, I've come to the conclusion that we're in a better spot than you might think. I crunched some numbers, and found an interesting statistic:
-
Wins before back to back losses: 3
-
Wins after back to back losses: 6
-
Streak multiplier boost: x2
Now that we have another set of of losses, if we apply the multiplier boost to the win streak before the losses, the data shows that we're gonna win 12 in a row (6*2 = 12). I've ran these calculations multiple times just to be sure, and the numbers check out.
If this trend continues, we'll lose two after the 12 game winning streak, win 24, lose another two, then go on a 48 game win streak. This will leave us with a regular season record of 74-8 (breaking the record for most wins in a season), as well as leaving us with an extra 11 wins in a row going into the playoffs, guaranteeing that we make it to the ECF. We'll start with a 3-0 lead against the 2nd seed Cavs, then let them win 2 to keep the process alive, allowing us to go off on a 96 game winning streak. 5 games will be used to finish off the Cavs and sweep the Warriors in the finals, leaving us with 91 consecutive wins for the next season.
We'll be the first team in NBA history to go undefeated all season, and it will become statistically impossible for any team not named the Hawks to win a championship. Years will pass between hawks losses, then decades, until finally the very idea becomes a myth. Rest easy hawks fans, we're at the beginning of a new era.
