This past season the Celtics had more than a few memorable games. They beat the record setting Warriors, took two exciting games from the Hawks, and also beat the champs- the Cavaliers. At the Quicken Loans Arena on February 5th, Avery Bradley hit a game winner for the C's. The Celtics entered the game 30-22 and the Cavs were 35-14.
The game started out in huge favor of the Cavs, as they jumped to a big lead early and held on to it for a big part of the first half. At the half the score was 49-43 in favor of Cleveland.
In the third, the Celtics started clawing their way back, even taking the lead during the quarter, but were still down by 8 after 3. The fourth would prove to be a big one for the C's. They put up 39 on the Cavs, and the game went down to the wire.
The Celtics were up by 7 with 3 minutes remaining, but ended up being down by 4 with 7 seconds to go, after Jae Crowder hit a three. Evan Turner made a tough layup and was fouled by J.R. Smith to cut the lead to 2 with 4 seconds left. ET missed the free throw but the ball bounced off of LeBron and the Celtics gained possession with under 4 seconds to go.
"I had a feeling it was going in even before he shot it." Marcus Smart summed up the last play of the game.
Isaiah got the inbounds pass and kicked it out to Avery Bradley, who took a three as the buzzer sounded. It went in, and the Celtics had defeated the eventual champs. This was one of my all time favorite games to watch, it was very exciting and down to the wire.
Some stats: Boston shot 43.2% and 35% from the three point line while Cleveland shot just 26.7% from 3. Avery Bradley had 14 points on 4-8 shooting, Isaiah had 22, and Evan Turner was huge off the bench with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. LeBron had 30 for Cleveland.
