Currently, the Lakers are 9-35 and the Nets are 11-32. That's just 2 1/2 games difference and the Nets are still spiraling downward after losing Jack. The Lakers are one of the few teams in the league that could potentially be worse than the Nets. The Lakers have 38 games left so there is a chance they could beat the Nets' record.

Why not cheer Kobe on his way out? Yea it's the Lakers and it's Kobe and those are like 2 of the unforgivable curses in Boston (the third being the Yankees), but he is an all time great finally hanging up his jersey. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more Kobe moments this season.

If that last reason was too warm hearted I've got something a little more toxic that involves the Lakers winning. I doubt they're dumb enough to go this hard after wins, but if the Lakers pick is outside of the top 3, they lose it to Philly. That's right ladies and gentleman. The Lakers pick is top 3 protected and even if they are one of the 3 worst teams there is still a chance they'll convey that pick to Philly, if they end up with the 4th pick. They most likely WILL tank if it looks like they're winning too much but Randle, Clarkson and Russell will undoubtedly improve over the second half of the season as rookies are prone to do. Essentially with every win they're shooting themselves in the foot.
