I work at Charlotte's busiest restaurant and this happened to me last night. I thought it was kinda funny and thought I'd share it here

So towards the tail end of a busy dinner last night, four Guys came in and sat at the end of the sushi bar. Grabbed them some menus and ensured them their server would be right with them. About ten minutes later I'm asked by a server to turn on TNT for the Guys at the end of the sushi bar.

I already knew the Knicks were playing Washington on TNT, but I was still soured by the Knicks beating the C's at home on Wednesday that I never put it on. So, I walk up behind the Guys with the remote and said:

"Alright who wanted the Knicks game on?" One of them raises their hand up and acknowledges my question.

I said jokingly: "I didn't want to do this because of the way Rose and the Knicks beat my Celtics at home last night...the C's can't be losing at home like that. I guess IT-4 didn't feel like putting up 40 in the 4th last night."

They all laughed and one said: "Yeah Man, he's playing great this year....he's real tough to stop." I talked to them about their food for a while and they told me how they come here every time they come to town. Real nice Guys.

I thanked them for coming in, they thanked me, I walked away and thought nothing of it. After they left my buddy Brian said. "Scotty, you know that was DeMarre Carroll you were talking to right?!"

Sure enough, I go to the Raptors roster pics and discover I was talking about IT-4 and "My Celtics" with Toronto's DeMarre Carroll and freaking Kyle Lowry. Our biggest division rival.

I don't know how I didn't recognize Lowry at the time. I felt kind of stupid, a little embarrassed. But I also couldn't get that stupid smile off my face the rest of the night. Go Celts!
