Should we tank?

Wait wait wait wait. I know you hate the idea. So do I. I mean, come on, we just signed Dwight! And resigned Baze and locked down Dennis for another 4 years! Why would we tank?

Just hear me out.

We're all disappointed with the way this season has gone. We're 15-15 and if we drop a game we're out of the top 8 in the East. I know you're thinking, "But we can turn it around! We just beat the Raptors in Toronto and the Thunder in OKC." But do we really want to? Do we really want to miss out on this (supposedly very good) draft class? Even if we do start winning and get the 3 or 4 seed, we face some tough questions this offseason. Do we resign an aging Paul for a ton of money? Do we keep a 35 y/o Kyle and 32 y/o Thabo? If we do keep all of them, will it really be worth it if all they can give us is, at best, a 4 seed next season?

We have very few young guys who show the potential to be future starters (aside from Dennis, we're in trouble if we're relying on Taurean, Bembry, THJ, and Muscala to lead us in the future). Shouldn't we take advantage of our picks (we have all our picks as well as Minnesota's 1st rounder next year) and rebuild through the draft for the next year or two? Otherwise, I think we're only going to get worse as our team ages and our young guys begin to level off and become below-average starters if we're lucky.

There are two clear moves I think we should make: 1) Trade Paul ASAP to get some value, especially because his contract expires this year 2) Trade Kyle to a team looking for a spark off the bench in the playoffs this year

Maybe I'm wrong. What do you guys think?
