LOCAL COVERAGE
Celtics Beat this week featured Howard Beck of the Bleacher Report. C’s are catching a ton of eyes in the national media and Beck is one. A lot of Celtics discussion including the home wins and last night’s game with the Cavs. Like everyone, Beck is just stunned how far the Celts have become in such a short period of time. Beck believes can get that guy this summer - they’re that close. LHR pitches a plan to Beck using Bush White House tactics where the Celtics should pay people in the media to pump up Boston as a destination, feed misinformation to so-called insiders to report and create phony dialogue on talk shows to enhance the perception of Boston to Durant.
WEEI Podcast did another very short bang-bang podcast inside the Garden before the Blazers game. Almost like an extension of the Garden Report, same fellows, little longer. Done before the Blazers game when the Celts just rolled. Lot of hype surrounding individual players and the ones highlighted in the description being Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder. Then the schedule ahead which is very tricky for the Celtics especially later in the month as the guys pointed out the back to back with the Pacers and Thunder and then that West Coast trip at the end of the month.
Celtics Stuff Live: Aired last Monday and had Mark Murphy on where they still discussed the trade deadline and where the Celtics were at the remainder of the season. Still a lot of consideration on who it was the C’s were targeting in that mystery trade. Justin brings up an interesting theory that it may have been a bit of a smokescreen by Celtics PR to appease fans who got very excited about the trade deadline. Could Blake Griffin have been the mystery guy? Lot of theorizing here.

NATIONAL COVERAGE
Not much on the National scene this week but Coach Brad Stevens did do a show on The Vertical with Chris Mannix. He talked about his career up to this point. What it was like to make the jump from college to the NBA, what he would be doing if he wasn't coaching basketball, and a lot more. It was awesome to listen to.
There were shorter discussions about the Celtics on these shows
- The Lowe Post
- NBA Lockdown - they talked about how good of a coach Brad Stevens is and how much he has the team playing over it's head
- Eye on Basketball - Zach Harper talked about potential targets for the Celtics in the offseason, including Al Horford, Dwight Howard, but ultimately says they may have to trade for someone
- TrueHoop TV - they talk about the competition for the Cavs in the east, and say the Celtics, although better than last year, won't be able to hang long with Cleveland
